Course Learning Objectives
- Understand the Science and Principles of Photobiomodulation (PBM) and Laser Therapy
Learn the foundational concepts, biological mechanisms, physics, and historical evolution of PBM and MLS® laser technology, including key therapeutic parameters. - Gain Proficiency in Using MLS® and M-Hi Laser Technologies
Acquire hands-on knowledge of operating, customising, and maintaining the M-Hi Laser while ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements. - Apply Evidence-Based Laser Protocols Across a Range of Clinical Conditions
Master the use of PBM in treating acute and chronic pain, inflammation, wound healing, musculoskeletal disorders, neuropathies, dental, sports, and post-surgical conditions. - Evaluate Treatment Outcomes Through Case-Based Learning

About the Presenter
This course is presented by Dr Karina Patel (BDS, DABDSM, DABCP, DABCDSM)
Dr. Patel qualified as a dentist at King’s College in London, UK, with further training in the USA, UAE, UK, and Australia.
She has a special interest in craniofacial pain and sleep-disordered breathing. This led her to become the director of TMJ and sleep therapy centres in London, Devon, and Dubai for over ten years.
At the London Sleep Centre, she worked with a multidisciplinary team of physicians and allied health professionals to find the most efficient patient pathways. She has treated over 5,000 patients with sleep breathing disorders and chronic pain complaints.
Dr. Patel has lectured internationally on sleep and pain and relocated to Australia in 2021, where she is now working to raise awareness about sleep disorders.
She is the founder of Sleepwell AU/NZ, a multidisciplinary education platform that focuses on sleep and pain management.
